Hey folks,
Hoping to get some good advice on this forum. We've just removed the carpeting almost everyone along with all the stickers. Plan on painting the cabinets and walls, and haven't figured out how we're dealing with the bump out transition (maybe vynil flooring just overhanging).
We've discovered a few issues like the charge controller is cooking batteries, the hot water is way too hot, and the fridge is way too cold. Very happy with the quality of the build as at 13 years old it's in great shape otherwise... Just want a different inside decor!
Cheers

Also: can't figure out how to search past posts as when I click the search the keyboard pops up for a second and disappears (using an Android phone btw)

First off----Welcome aboard!:thumb:
Now, if you put the make, model, and year of your rig in your signature it will tell people what you have and they will be better able to answer your questions.:)

Can't help with the battery issue, but I can tell you the hot water heater (HWH) is set too hot intentionally because, all depending what size HWH you have more than likely 6 gallon, it forces you to dilute with more cold water therefore enabling you to take a longer shower without running out of hot water...As far as the refrigerator is concerned there should be 3 or 4 settings on the front of it which control the temperature, cold to coldest...Hope this helped...:D

PS...welcome to the forum....

Your converter has went haywire or the previous owner wired something wrong to be boiling the batteries.
The fridge has a thermistor on the cooling fins that can be moved up/down to adjust the temperature. You'll have to look online as to which way is which as I can never remember.
The water heater has been explained already.

I believe moving it up warms the fridge itself. Down does the opposite. It is sensing the temperatures nearer or farther from the freezer and compensating in the fridge--if that makes sense.

I'll address the charger/convertor. Your camper has a power station with a charger/convertor. You will find fuses for 12 volt, and circuit breakers for the 120 volt appliances and outlets inside the panel.
One portion of the power station has the charger for your batteries. That charger has gone bad, or it's possible that you have a bad battery. The good news is, you can modernize that to a nicer 3 or 4 stage charger.
If you are handy, you can replace the charger yourself, it's only a few wires. Some people replace the whole power station, that's a much bigger job, with many wires.
Look for a make and model inside the fuse panel, and then shop for a suitable upgrade to the charger. You don't want to replace it with the exact replacement.. now's the time to upgrade.
