Hi I'm Char and my husband Steve are new here. I posted for the first time last night as being a newbie I have tons of questions. Steve and I bought our RW 36FL out of Virginia from Mcgeorge's about a month ago. We live in CT. We weren't in the market but on our way back from Myrtle Beach we saw the RV dealer from the highway decided to pull in and stayed the night in a local campground...We traded in a Class A so this is also our very first fifth wheel. As soon as we walked into it we fell in love!!! Bummer was we couldn't take it home with us as we didn't even own a truck yet. Then we had to wait until they could get it delivered to us and after about a month and making the first payment we received it. Within a two week span we bought our RW and I traded in my 2013 Range Rover Evoque for a 2011 F350 Super Duty Lariat dually w/Power Stroke Diesel with 17,000 miles on it, we couldn't pass it up....what a life change.
We've had issues since day one but Redwood said they would take care of everything, Awning won't open, lose wires on slides, heater fan making noises etc etc...My husband has been very calm through the whole thing and says as soon as they find someone close enough to bring it to they will take care of all of it...so we'll take the word of Redwood and see what happens. I'm in Quality so I have that hat on and was disappointed at the service department at the dealers for not going through it like they said they did. Were 9 hours away if it was closer it would have been back the same weekend so they could deal with it instead of us. Looking forward to taking it out but nervous also as it's just over 40 ft. and tall !! lol.. won't be going over the palisades highway with this lol.. now just need a hitch:LOL:

Oh and did I say it was BEAUTIFUL and I love it..lol...maybe I did :) even with the issues.
Our three furbabies travel with us a Boston Terrier and my two itty bitty Yorkies :)

Welcome to our growing family! We're all here to help you figure things out. I can only hope that you enjoy your Redwood as much as we enjoy ours. Don't hesitate to PM me if you have questions.

Welcome and Good luck...

suggest it's best to document everything while it's fresh in your mind...

and video/take pics of everything, jot down who you spoke to and what they said...

just saying :)

Welcome Char and I hope they get that all fixed up for you! We really enjoy ours, and yes we had to fiddle a bit with it in the spring, but its worth it.

Welcome, we love our 2014 36FL, hope you love your's also.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your Redwood purchase. Be patient and work with Redwood on any issues you may have. In most cases Redwood has been very good in standing behind their product. Unfortunately, many (not all) dealers have been the source of many problems.

We have owned our 2012 36RL since September 2011 and now have nearly 14000 miles on it. We have had very few, minor issues and have been very happy with our purchase. This was our first 5th wheel.

Again, congratulations and hope you have many years of happy and safe travels.

Welcome Char & Steve, congratulations on your new Redwood!!

It's unfortunate that you have had problems, shame on your dealer for not assuring a well functioning coach for you, I hope you can get the issues resolved quickly.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on purchasing a RW, you picked an excellent floorplan. Shame on the dealer for not doing a thorough prep, but rest assured, in our experience RW stands behind their products.

Welcome Char.
Welcome!
We bought our new 38RE from the same dealer and had some issues as well (minor). We have an appointment with them on December 1st. Our PDI went very well.
The folks on the forum are extremely helpful, as I had several questions when we bought ours a month and a half ago.

Welcome to the forum, this is a great group with lots of information and support.

Thank you for making us feel welcome, I know this forum will be a huge help to us. We aren't newbies to rving just new to fifth wheeling and I'm not afraid to ask for help or advice :)

Welcome aboard, Char. We have just had our Redwood since May of this year and absolutely love it. I hope Redwood takes care of your issues. After following the forum, I have faith that they will stand behind their product. You will find, as I have, that there is a wealth of information on this site and a willingness to help each other. So...just fire away your questions and you have a multitude of new friends to help you.

My cousin, who drives a million dollar Class A coach says "You drive em' then you fix em'!" Every RVer, as you know, has experienced that.

Welcome Char! I agree with everyone above... I do not think that RW has any more problems than any other brand or manufacturer. It's just the nature of RVs, but you already know that. It's all about the company, and we have had GREAT response and action from them. NO complaints. Most of our issues were small, a few not so small, all are taken care of to our satisfaction. We are already getting used to the OOooohs and Ahhhs when people see our coach. They are amazed at the livability of it, and I can say that it feels just like home to us now, and WE LOVE IT. Good luck with yours, and enjoy this AWESOME forum. Your questions will always be answered by amazing awesome folks!!

Welcome Aboard. We have a 36Fl as well and think it is the best layout Redwood ever made.
If you need any help on your rig, PM me and I will try to help. We have had ours for 3 years, and a few little problems nothing major.
Safe travels

Bud

Wait just a minute Bud.......the RL is the BEST layout:LOL: Crazy Canadians...they think they have the best Wisky too:LOL:

We looked through at least 40 fifth wheels while we were in Myrtle Beach and they kinda all looked the same. When we were headed home and stopped into the Virginia dealers lot that changed everything. We opened the door and that was all it took just beautiful....
