We bought a 2023 Coleman Thor 22EQF last fall. Our 5th RV, first driving. Generally very pleased. Especially enjoying the storage & drivability. Even the wife is getting used to driving it. šŸ˜‰

Couple minor issues (Still can’t get the auto scan to find channels). Back to the dealer again. I see no cable from the TV to the booster. Not sure if it’s missing or it’s direct wired from the WinnGuard. Got a LOT more channels with our old crank up antennae. Anyone else having these issues?

Btw: we’re from southern Michigan about 15 miles north of the Ohio border.

Winegard is a company. What winegard product do you have?

If there is no COAX cable connected to the TV it will not receive any Over The Air (OTA) channels regardless of whether the antenna booster is turned on or not.

To get the On the Air TV channels you need to turn on the booster. There should be a wall switch panel with a very small button to turn it on. The button is hard to see since it is so small.

I have used the booster in the ā€œonā€ position (green light on) and it still finds no channels on scan. This is our third camper with an antennae & never had this issue before.

Coax

That will be my next thing to check. There is nothing external from the Tv to the plate (the way it was done on our previous two units) but it’s worth a shot to check. Thanks.

Have you tried connecting a simple antenna direct to the TV to ensure you get some signals? Some TVs have setting for OTA versus Digital...

If you do get signal with simple antenna direct to TV, can move that same simple antenna upstream to see where you have a disconnect?

We have King antenna permanent on roof, and a portable Omni King that we use permanent Antenna is blocked & have trouble with signals, they both work great, but we rarely ever use as we stream everything.

Removed booster plate. There are actually 3 coax fittings running in. So it’s beyond my skills. Back to the dealer.

Perhaps try contacting Winegard directly? Many dealer service departments don't have the greatest reputation. If you can DIY you might get it fixed sooner & betterer...

And a picture of the booster and what's behind the wall plate might be helpful to us.

I have to ask the obvious question since no one else asked. Did you set the TV to over the air prior to running the scan? Yeah, I know dumb question right :coolsmiley: Our TV's default is cable so we have to change to OTA before we scan every time we have unhooked the RV from shore power.
The other issue we have is the Winegard Razor has to be almost dead nutz on aimed at the broadcast tower to get the digital signal. Otherwise, we get Nada.

Additionally plugging an antenna direct to the TV.

Yup

That was the first thing I checked. This is our 3rd unit with an antennae, so I learned that on the first one. However this is the FIRST one that the leads are direct wired into the rear of the booster plate, which I discovered when I removed it to check. And the antennae is omni-directional, so there is no aiming in theory.

Still an unresolved issue apparently. Its under warranty so back to the dealer AGAIN.
