Hello! My husband and I are going to join the world of travel trailers shortly and I am thrilled to find this site. We recently purchased a 2013 Crossroads Sunset Trail 30RE and will be bringing it home next week. I am reading all I can on this model and the troubles that have been experienced by current and former owners. What concerns me at the moment, is the roof issue. We did notice some checking out (cracking) along the front of the trailer and hubby is going to re-caulk the area. There is no sign of leaking and we'd like to keep it this way! Being as this is a used trailer, it comes with no warranty. The previous owners had the unit parked in a campground for most of the time so it has seen very few miles on the road. The trailer is in excellent condition and we are hoping to give it rave reviews once we have a chance to use it. Any suggestions from those of you who have been there, done that would be very appreciated. Is there any special type of prep we should do before we hit the road to perhaps avoid trouble in the future? Thank you.

Congrats on your new-to-you RV! :)

Check each of the mechanical systems. Furnace, water heater (both DC and propane), ACs, DC water pump, etc. If you have power tongue and stabilizing jacks, check those as well. Visually inspect all of the water connections you can see.

And check the tires, tire pressure, brakes, and suspension. Lots of folks forget about these. :)

There's a PDI checklist under the Documents tab that can fill in many more items to check.

Congrats again! :)

Roof maintenance is very normal and should be conducted at least twice a year. Adding Dicor or Alpha Lap sealant where needed will help keep your roof free from leaks. Welcome and good luck with your new to you RV.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the new camper! Yes just check everything...

Thank you for all the above suggestions. I will definitely go to the PDI checklist. We have a three hour drive from the dealership to our home and I sure don't want any flat tires along the way! :)

Thank you. I am looking forward to getting acquainted with our new trailer and this forum.
