Looking at purchasing a new 24 Axis 7.1 with drivers side slide out. I understand a bit about the different types of slide out manufacturers, but does Thor make their own? If not who or what type of slideout mechanism is used in this unit. I will be traveling 12/29 this monday to see the first Thor Axis in person at Camping World, Asheville NC , thanks

All gasoline powered class A coaches made by Thor MC use Lippert Components Incorporated (LCI) Schwintek In-Wall slide systems.

The floor plan 25 7.1 slide out has the convertible bed and closet which should not be that heavy, but that said I really dont see much of a need to use the slide out as I will be removing the sofabed and putting in a single european style recliner and doggie bed. But I assume you should operate it often enough so to lubricate the tracks.

Never ever lubricate the tracks with anything. Just keep them clean. The part that MAY be lubricated is the jib. You-tube videos will show you how and use only PFET lube. LCI has published the recommended maintenance and operating instructions.

No lubrication recommended by Lippert.

And what's an Axis 7.1?

I sure get tired of all the negative comments on the slide systems. Lippert makes over 150,000 slide systems per year. Sure some are going to fail but the same goes for every system on the RV.

Whatever you do. Do not buy from camping world.
They just settled a major lawsuite.
They also advertise low payments. Surprise 5-8 years later you have a ballon payment equal to or greater than your purchase price.
Buy items off the shelf for your use, but not your rv please!!!!!!!!!

Thanks that's very helpful, it's kind of like my mountain bike chain, I put it in hot wax, works great does not collect any dust.
Do not do that to the slide gear. Follow the company instruction.
