We just put a down payment on a 2021 4001LK.I have a couple (or more) questions. When looking at this RV we opened the generator bay and there are no wires present.I said oh its not generator prepped. he told me it was that the wiring was just behind the wall of the generator bay. Truth or lie?? If there is no prep how expensive is it to have wiring done? Also ideas on generator or generators. We dont want to do something we will regret and waste money. Next question is it is washer/dryer prepped. Suggestions on washer/dryer.
Thank you all for any information

Can't help with the generator wiring, but personally would go with the Onan 5500 or 6500, IIRC if ordered with gen set from the factory that's what would be installed.
Also unless RW has REALLY cheapened things up it will be w/d prepped & although on the pricey side we had very good service for 6 years fulltiming with the Splendide stackable w/d set.

Is there a sheet metal housing in the front gen/battery compartment??
If there isn't then the unit is not gen prep'd. We have the Propane Onan 5500 that was Factory installed and while we don't use it alot, it's nice to just hit the button and have
power.
We've had both the Splendide Combo Washer/Dryer and the stackable units.
Had the Combo in our Montana and RW 36RL, both vented and work fine for what
we needed. Put the stackables in our current 39MB, been using them almost full time for almost 6 years.
No matter what you go with, make sure it's vented, some claim the non-vented works
fine, but most will no. Good friends got talked into the non-vented and she ruined
many clothes trying to get them dry.

Another quick place to look is inside on the control panel for slides, tanks etc. if gen prepped, there will be a start/stop switch and an hour meter there

Yes it is gen prep and I pulled mine out to look at it. Unless you will do a LOT of dry camping, recommend you hold off on the Gen. The are quite expensive (8K) and after talking to many folks with a gen, the hardly ever use it with only a couple of hours over several years. We are full time with a lot of travel any still yet to need one yet ... we did install large flat solar panels to maintain the batteries when we dry camp with zero issues. We did not get a W/D yet either as the only do very small loads and we have use campground laundry or laundromat with no issues.

We have been in our 4001LK for a little over a month now. Have an Onan 5500 propane generator. Unit was prepped but still spendy to purchase and have installed. Nice to have from a redundancy standpoint. We have been staying in parks with full hookups, only using the generator on harvest host nights.
We have the Splendid washer/dryer combo. Unit was prepped. You can only clean a few pieces at a time and it takes a really long time to complete the cycle. We still use laundromats for big days.
