No Hot Water and No Water Pressure…

New 2024 28Z PDI operations completed. Once home over next few weeks got familiar with the operation of each appliance and system.
When I got to the hot water system I could not get any hot water. Went thru the trouble shooting and found the thermal cut off fuse was bad. So I replaced the thermal cut off fuse and now had hot water.
Then when I put the slide in I noted I then had no hot or cold water pressure. Turned the water pump off then back on and noted slim to no water again no cold or hot.
What made me do it I don’t know but put the slide out so I could have more room to pace the aisle back and forth and scratch my head.
I turned the pump back on and checked the facets and shower and magic we now had water flow and pressure. I turned the pump off then on to see if the problem returned and still had flow and pressure. Problem solved?
I closed the slide and problem returned no flow and no pressure.
Pulled the drawers out under sink and cabinet partition to look at water lines.
What I found was when the slide was in the water lines would bind and be bent restricting flow.
See pictures attached; water lines binding

It was kind of depressing looking at the poor install and also the fact I could not get to the lines easily to replace the PEX fittings and replace the PEX lines that were now damaged.
Also noted was the wire bundle that was not installed properly which when the slide was retracted it also would be bent and crushed.
Just matter of time before the water lines would fail and the wires would be severed.

Again during PDI all items and operations were covered but note slide was out and we ran the water facets and shower but didnt wait for the hot water we just talked thru the water miser and hot water propane and electric heater.

The fix for accessible damaged fittings and the PEX was a pain. The question now if it fails then how do I get under floor to get to the PEX damaged I couldn’t replace? I imagine or hope there is a way to gain access from under the RV thru a cover to those water lines. If someone has the answer please let me know so I’ll be ready.

Truly love the 28Z but depressing is the quality of the build. And as you can see in the pictures THOR doesn’t clean as you go in the build. You can see all the FOD, leftover cut tie wraps and debris.

Anyway hope this helps others that may have water pressure issues.

THOR maybe hit up your team that installs these PEX water lines to ensure that they don’t get crushed and bent to include the electric bundle.

So hard to believe this is what your people do on an assembly line and worse supervisors allow.

I hope you pay your people like **** because this pictures truly identify ****** workmanship.

Again love the THOR 28Z but as a client/consumer I would expect in this day and age better quality and pride in the product from the people that are privileged to build and also be employed.

Sorry about your issues. But before you put all the blame on the assembly crew, remember... they are under the gun to produce - there's no going back and fixing a crooked screw. The simple fact that sawdust, dropped screws and broken fittings are left behind drawers is telling of a MUCH larger problem...

It's the culture... either the workers bust their a** and get product out the door in an impossible time frame, or they're out the door... see ya later.

Anytime I see shoddy workmanship, I put blame squarely on management for ALLOWING it... who's in charge anyway? The product went out the door like that - and NO SUPERVISOR or manager instructed an employee to fix the errors.

If YOU owned the company, would you pay upper management to continue allowing inferior product to be delivered? OR - would you instruct managers to TRAIN and SUPERVISE the employees building the product - or else you'd clean house and get qualified management?

Quality starts from the TOP DOWN... not from the BOTTOM UP. Same with raising kids... delinquency is learned from parental neglect.

Forget the dealer, I would be calling the factory to setup an appointment to have them fix this. We have taken RV's back to the factory to fix things that were obvious manufacturing problems and had good results. The techs will give you a lot more attention than a dealer will and they know how to do everything from taking out a slide to what ever needs to be done. When you call the factory will tell you to take it to a dealer but be firm and tell them you want it done at the factory because it is a design problem.
