Oil cap for Thor Freedom Traveler A30

I took my recently purchased 2022 Thor Freedom Traveler A30 to Camping World for an oil change. They told me that it does not have an oil cap and doesn’t need it.
Does that sound correct?

How else would you put oil in the engine?

They told me there was a long hose going to the back of the engine. I was too tired to argue but when I got home I knew it didn’t make sense. Now I asking the same question where the heck did they put the oil.

Yes, the oil fill tube is fairly long. Some engines have an oil fill cap in the valve cover - so no long path for putting oil in. Oil isn't likely to splash out of that long fill tube but what would keep dust & debris from getting in if there is no cap?

Do you think Camping World lost the oil fill cap or was it missing when you bought it?

I don't have the V8, I have the V10 on a Class A. I don't have an oil fill cap on the valve cover as shown above for the V8. I do have a fill tube that comes out under the hood and is very high up. The tube does have a cap on the end of it with the oil weight specification. I assume the V8 has the same type of fill capability on Class A RVs with a cap on the end of it.

I’m pretty sure I have the V8, but they explained it as being a very long tube similar to what you described. I’m going to check it out tomorrow morning.

Ok, thanks to this group I learned a lot You made me question my engine size and its a 6.8L Triton V10 gas engine. So the long tube you described makes sense.

Ok, thanks to this group I learned a lot You made me question my engine size and its a 6.8L Triton V10 gas engine. So the long tube you described makes sense.

It would be highly improbable for a 2022 model year motorhome to be built on a 2019 or earlier chassis, the last year for the V10 in the F53.

Something doesn't compute...

I have a 2024 Freedom Traveler and it definitely has an oil cap. They are wrong.
