We're looking to move up from a gas to a diesel pusher. One of my searches turned up a dealer in California called RVshowroomcalifornia.com.
They have some great deals on used motor homes. I always go with " if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is" .
Just wondered if anyone has ever heard or dealt with them,
Haven't found alot of info on the web.
Thanks, Bob J.

Looks like their business name is Simi RV by StreetView. "RVshowroomcalifornia.com" is an online presence.

I agree with the "if it sounds too good..." sentiment. One method I use to discern a scam is to check their "Contact Us" link. When all it includes is an email address I hear, "Warning Will Robinson, Warning". But when they include a physical address and a phone number - I find that as a sign of possible reality. The final test would be to actually contact them - by email & phone call. If you get an email response in a reasonable amount of time (say next business day) and it sounds like it was written by a person and not some boilerplate automatic reply then I follow that up with a phone call.

Good luck in your search and let us know how it goes.

I have purchased parts from them, Simi Rv has been there for year. My sister bought their 5th wheel from them. FWIW my guess is anything you see is a trade in

Personally if I can not see it, touch it, or drive it it would be a hard pass. But I am just old fashioned. And you have to watch now a days that it is not a Copart or IAA or any of the other auction places where damaged campers are dumped. Some go thru several states to get a clear title. Do your homework and good luck.

So, for an update on the dealer, after a couple attempts at contacting them, they finally called us back.
Had very hard time understanding him, but when I told them we wanted to come out and take look at the coach, before we bought it site unseen, he said there was no one there to let us in the gate but a security guard.
They are apparently only an online dealer, pay through their web site and hope the bus get delivered. Or just say good by to your money.
Also when ask about the taxes and other charges, the price was all inclusive.
3 or 4 red flags went up during that conversation, needless to say, we're still looking at motor homes, lol.

A lot of companies sell like that. I don't trust them but it is a trend. In this case, if you were really interested I would find out more a bout their Trust company? Make sure it is really independent. I would also research all I could on the VIN number. Ask for specific pictures like 1. Engine, Battery Compartment, Kitchen, Bath and of course the Generator.

Method of delivery is critical, will they drive it or transport?

I think this company while one that I would avoid, they tell you in large print how they operate. I would NEVER buy any RV without a PDI and they want you to do the PDI after you have supplied the funds to buy. If there is fine print it will be on what constitutes a return that they pay for and how accessible is the Trust company.

I would NEVER EVER EVER buy a big ticket item like that... like a house or RV. That's Amazon's business model. At least with Amazon Prime I can return items I don't like, no questions asked and get a full refund. Can you do that with an online motorhome purchase... or a house... real estate? What's next... brides by mail?? 😄

Can one try before buying? Is there a rental option? Do they take trade ins? How about extended warranty? (I better stop here :) )

Internet Police are on the way...
