Good Morning and Happy Holidays from South Carolina,

We have a 2015 Vegas (26 ft). We bought it a year ago and have been on 2 short trips. We previously owned a Newmar Kountry Star for 16 years and consider ourselves seasoned RVers.

We recently realized that our Vegas' generator (which is working just fine) is not powering our coach. The plugs, TV, microwave, etc. do not work when the generator is on. It has worked in the past.

Of course we have turned every switch we can think of, of and on, several times. And he has flipped all of the switches in the breaker box under the frig.

We would greatly appreciate any assistance in this matter. Thank you.j

Well, I have one simple solution and one more complex one. The simple one: is the breaker located on the generator on?

The more complicated one is that the automatic transfer switch may be bad. If you have power to all of the outlets and appliances while on shore power, but you don't on generator power (and the breaker is on) then the ATS is probably stuck in shore power mode. Replace it with a new one.

Thanks DavidEM,

We will try that as soon as it stops raining.
Thank you so much for your advice. Leaving in a few days to spend 3 months in Okeechobee, FL.

Welcome aboard.
As stated by David EM check the breaker on the genset to see if it tripped. It is easy to do. Your old rig more than likely had at least 5500 watts capacity (maybe an 8K) genny. Your new Vegas has a 4000. The smaller genny won't allow you to run as many appliances at the same time. Our ACE with a 4000 watt genset will pop the breaker if we run the A/C, fridge, hot water heater then kick in a coffee pot or hair dryer. Hopefully that is your issue an easy fix.

Generator still won't run our appliances, etc.

Thanks Everyone for your advice. My Jerry has tried all of your suggestions, but still no luck.
There is an RV repair guy in the campground we are staying. He said he would look at it after the holidays.

So he found the one on the generator??? It is kind of hard to see…We have the same generator, and had the same issue..Reset that breaker and all was good…

He replaced the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS). I suggest he find it and check the wirenut connects Thor uses to connect it - they are a common failure point. Could just be a loose connection. CHECK THEM WITH SP UNPLUGGED!

Where is the ATS located, I have a 2021 27.2

Our 27.2 is a 2018 and the ATS is located under the bed directly behind the fuse panel and the converter. Should be a 2'x2' panel with 4 screws above the converter. The bedroom slide needs to be run out to access.

Got it, thanks. Thought it was my ATS that was bad but I noticed the breaker on the generator itself had tripped Reset and all was good.
