Saturday we brought home our new 2015.5 black and maroon GK!

Dave - That was ours you saw on I-55. The sales people were impressed that we knew where it was before they did. And thanks to this forum we knew to check for the cheap batteries (thanks Dave) and knew where to look for the appliance outlet in the pantry (thanks Tn:cool:.

Our sales person, Jerry Cobb, really went to bat for us. Camping World of Avondale will replace the cheap batteries with good name brand batteries. Because we also read on this forum about the satellite cable not going to the outside TV, Camping World Service was able to install a connection to it at our cost before we took possession.

Here are some pictures of the new induction cooktop and the electric power cord reel options. The new lighted cabinet door with the Redwood design was a real nice surprise!

Very nice! Love the cordreel. Where is it on the rig by the way?

Did the oven option go away, or is it still there?

The cord reel is on the driver's side between the large slideout and the end of the trailer. You can still have an oven but not if you get the induction cooktop. You get the 3 deep drawers instead.

Very, very nice, hope you get years of great service from her (the trailer). Enjoy learning all the uniqueness of your new home.

Man, I can't do without having an oven. Why can't you get an oven with the electric cooktop?

I was hoping to get an oven and the induction cooktop. But found out that they do not offer an oven without propane burners since they are a single unit.

WOW....that is beautiful. Congratulations and I'm glad everything worked out for you. I'll be headed back down I55 again tomorrow (and a few days)....who knows whose trailer I'll see.

Awesome looking Redwood, enjoy.

Thanks for the pictures.

The oven is actually a range, so they couldn't offer it with the induction unless it was significantly modified and vented out the back.

I like the induction, but also have always liked the oven. Glad they offer both still.

What do you use for baking with this setup? In a previous RV I had what they called a half time oven that was in the microwave. I used it for anything I would use the regular oven for.

It is both a convection oven and a microwave. I haven't had one before. From what I've heard I should be able to use regular microwave containers when just using the microwave and use regular oven bakeware when using the convection part. Plus I can use both convection and microwave together. We are heading out on Thursday on our first trip in it. Dinner may be a little late while I'm figuring out how to use this!

If your microwave/convection is like the one I had, you'll love it. You can use it for anything you use the regular oven for, plus as a microwave. I didn't know you had that.

You probably do too Jerry ~ I haven't seen or heard of a new Redwood without the Convection/Microwave.

Our Redwood did not come with a Convection Microwave, just a standard Microwave.
Since we did not order and bought off the lot, this was one of the few minus items.
Our last 5th Wheel had a Convection Microwave and just a gas cooktop.
We really enjoyed the Convection unit and did not miss not having the oven at all.
Our Redwood has the Gas Cooktop with Gas Oven, we rarely use the gas oven.

Please note that you have to open the outside vent to use the convection !
and make sure the inside flap opens up too... there have been many reports of it being off-center and not opening causing excessive heat in the oven...

According to the latest price sheet (10/20/2014) a Stainless Steel Convection Microwave is part of the manditory Full Time Living Package. So all new RWs should have one.
