Some of you may recall me lamenting that it's almost impossible to remove the grease filters under the vent hood to clean them-they are fragile and poorly made. If they are coated with grease, they begin to lose their effectiveness and then you start having grease build up on the exterior. To my surprise, replacing them is EXPENSIVE. They are about $15 EACH!! To "fix" the problem with the grease filters under the micro/convection being hard to clean and replace, I purchased a roll of self-adhesive magnetic strip (about $4) The replacement filters are about $15 EACH!

I then cut and applied the magnetic strips on each filter after I had cleaned them very well. (I clamped them for a while to aid in effectiveness of the adhesive)

Now they just sit on the exterior of the oven underneath. They work just as well, and now I can get them off and clean them when they need it.

I am sure I will have to use some kind of killer-glue because the adhesive might not survive the first cleaning, but that's ok. ;)

That's a great fix. I have the tape, I'll get some of the filter mesh and give it a try. Thanks.

I just reused the ones that were in there (after I bent them back into shape!)
