Power Cord

I have an electric power cord retractor that is causing problems. I have to turn it to certain positions to power up the trailer. There seems to be dead spots in it. Does anyone have a solution or suggestion to the problem?

This is what is inside the reel. You have a burned up contact. I could not get parts to fix ours. Had the whole reel replaced at a RW rally in 2018.

I opened up the end of the metal box around the reel and undid the cable going inside the RV from it. I added a plug to it. I pulled all the cable off the reel, took the cover off the middle of the drum and undid it, and pulled it out. Added a plug to it and used it that way for 6 months.

There was/is a company on Ebay that sells damaged reels. But they wanted almost as much as you could buy a new one for.
