I have air in my propane lines but I’m not having luck purging the air. I lit the stove burners and they lit then went out. I got propane this am and the guy didn’t open the tank valve and I failed to double check. The fridge tried to light on gas and I’m sure that why I’ve got air. I can let it sit and try it and it will light then go out. I’ve tried closing then opening the tank valve SUPER slowly now I’m leaving a burner on high but I’m not smelling any gas from the burner. What to try next?

Put screwdriver in the slotted bleed valve on the tank.
(You've seen the propane guy do this)
Turn until propane comes out at a fairly loud hissing sound.
Five seconds
Close valve

Use the standard ignition source safeties.

An ovefilled tank will lock up.

10,000 youtube videos will verify.

Turn everything off wait a minute then turn on slowly let it all balance out, then open one burner light it if it goes out turn off stove give it time to balance try again don’t try fridge till stove is working. If to much gas comes out to fast tank will shut down. Fridge takes 5 times to start after it’s been off for a while.

I tried that to no avail. He only filled the tank to 3/4 full, I’m assuming when the supply valve wasn’t opened the fridge thinks I ran out of gas. When I opened the valve I assume it went into a lockout. But I’ve tried closing the valve letting it sit closed for 10 mins and opening SUPER slowly but still no gas flow to stove or instant hot water heater.

If I let the stove sit for about 30 mins a burner will light then go out after a couple seconds. We’re at a park plugged in so the fridge is running on shore power.

Is the hot water heater shut off, nothing can be open when tank is opened. The tank is never completely full there needs to be room for expansion during hot days

Jimbo-Hot water tank is a Girard tankless but I’ll shut if off in case.
16Ace- Yes it was propane, KOA only had propane
Just tried it with everything but the inside lights off😁 but no luck. Looks like we’re not going to have a furnace tonight lol

Did you bleed it and look at youtube?

To test this path;
Close all valves, stove and fridge.
Opn tank valve all the way.
Unscrew tank connection.
If you hear the familiar
Pop
The tank is allowing propane into the line.

No noise,
No propane is leaving the tank

He didn't fill it to 75% because of talent.
He filled it to that because that's where your tank cuts off the flow from the filler.

No it’s just a standard 3 burner with 1 high output burner. Not even an oven
Then my only thought is open the bleeder screw next to shut off valve till you see white propane and valve needs to be open to bleed. Like ducks face said in post #2 and #9 watch you tube video first

I opened the bleeder and let it vent for 15 seconds but never did see the white gas like when they fill it. Then opened the valve, came in lit the stove and got a tiny flame for a second. Here’s a pic of the tank and bleeder. It’s pretty small so it could be hard to see the gas but I didn’t get this overwhelming gas smell.

I’ll have to try this later today as we have to leave this park and the next stop is 400 miles due west (we’re working our way home)

Ok….Im ready to pull out what little hair I have left. We got home today and just for fun I turned a stove burner on and heard gas! I got all 3 burners to light and the fridge to run on gas. I’m not sure why it started working. I tried the stove this am and nothing. Drove 400 miles home and things work! Thanks for the suggestions and help!

Because you bled the tank enough so the internal valve was allowed to let propane through.
Cooler night
Contraction
Reset

A bit of shaking down the road re-regulated the regulator, re-flexed the (internal) float or maybe re-organized the (internal) overfill valve. The picture appears to show the needle below the "Full" mark, which will be 80% of tank capacity.
Next time (if it happens), try tapping the regulator with a wooden handle...

So it is working now
