We finally pulled the trigger!! We have finalized our order for a 38GK and hopefully will take delivery in the of May!!

Full body paint Silver & Black with 2 awnings with Unaguard, Disc Brakes, Trail-air, 40# tanks, Max fan and lots of other options. We did not go with the 8000# axle but found out the 2014 38GK comes with G rated tires standard.

We are smiling big and will be grinning even more in a couple months. I hope it goes quickly!!! Thanks for all of the advice on this forum. You guys are a great resource and I hope one day to meet every last one of you!! Maybe...

Congratulation on submitting your order, a great choice. Enjoy the coach when it arrives and welcome to the growing RW Club.

It is about time! Congratulations, you will love it. Start getting your PDI list in order and do not accept it until all items are taken care of.

Congrats to you....sounds wonderful! Loving that 38GK!!!

Suzy &Ted,

First of all, congratulations!!

We too have the Silver & Black, there are'nt too many out there but Ruth and I really love the color scheme.

We ordered our 36FB in November and just learned our coach will be delivered next week, can't wait to get into our new home!!!

Chuck

Seriously??? You ordered in November and you're just getting it? We ordered an FB in Feb and it's supposed to be in later this month. I'm going to be VERY upset if it take 5 months to get it!!

Anybody else have any info on delivery times? When we were at the factory in October they told us they were turning out 5 a day and were going to be ramping that up. That's well over 500 units since then - doesn;t make sense that a custom order would take that long. Maybe they only run one floorplan at a time???

We were 22 weeks, it is 20 weeks with out the paint job. That was last year not sure what it would be now

Our salesman said it would be about 8 to 10 weeks. I am planning on at least 12 weeks. 22 weeks seems like way too long to wait.

I do know it will be totally worth it once it comes in no matter how long it takes.

How long did any others wait for their special order?

That's what we were told, too. We added some things about 2 weeks ago and they charged us about 30% more than if we had ordered originally because "it's more complicated to add after the unit is in the middle of construction". We were told it will be back from painting this week. If that's really the case, we should be getting it real soon. Big if!!

JJ

If you order the full body paint you can add 4-5 weeks the delivery time. Once the coach comes off the line it is sent to the paint shop.

Ordered our Feb 19. It should be in transport this week. That's about 6 weeks with paint.

Kev n JJ,

That's so predatory of your dealer. My dealer let me order anything additional we wanted while the unit was in production at the same discount as the original order. Redwood is happy to do whatever you ask and charges the dealer the same as long as it is possible. There is no "penalty pricing" based on "inconvenience" - except at your dealer.

I have to admit, our Dealer actually thought of some things to add after production started such as adding the 2nd heat pump, but the cost was the same discounted rate. No inflationary costs.

We added the tank heater pads. I saw the email from the RW rep with the price to the dealer, which is what we paid. THe
rep said if they had been ordered in the begining, they are easier to install and would have cost less. But they were not listed on the build sheet, so we didn't know until we saw thread about them on this forum. Still a lot better price then addidng them after the unit is delivered.

Our dealer applied the same discount we received in the beginning to the other items that were easily added later, as RW didn't charge extra. The tank heaters were the only thing we didn't catch early enough.

So NO - not the dealer being predatory. They've been super!! We even added some additional "non-standard" things that they charged us just the cost the RW charged them.
