Pulsate water

Does anyone have a accumulator take in there RW. I have a 36RL and the water pulsate like it's going out of water. Would a accumulator help? Thanks

We changed pumps to a FloJet VSD pump. It changes speed based on the demand. Eliminates the pulsating and is much quieter.

The newer SHURflo pumps came standard with the VSD which means you don't need an accumulator tank. Do you know the model and serial numbers of your water pump? That will tell us what you have.

Planning on doing this as well. I assume you'd do it again without hesitation? Was it a direct swap? I know some of the VSD pumps pull close to 10A, the stock pump pulls somewhere around 7A, just wondering if the stock wiring can handle the additional pull.

We've done that mod on just about every RV we've owned. Keeps a constant flow and much quieter operation.
Pretty much direct drop-in replacement, didn't require any change in the water lines and present wiring is fine.

I was just looking at pumps yesterday online.

The Shurflo vsd got really bad reviews. Didn't last more than 6 to 8 months
The Flojet did better
What model number did you get?

Just to be clear, there's typically two models of VSD pumps, one that's basically a stock replacement and a larger variety that has greater flow. The latter will allow multiple faucets to flow at full volume simultaneously. I want the latter so I don't get scalding water when during laundry during a shower.

That being said, do you know which model you installed?

I would think that taking a shower and doing a laundry at the same time in a Redwood or any other RV at this level would be impossible without interuption. In my MH I had the biggest pump available and it still had trouble meeting large demand requirements.

That being said, do you know which model you installed?

The larger GPM of the SHURflo models is the 4048. I've used the SHURflo in boats and RVs for many, many years and never had a problem until just recently. If a SHURflo can stand up to a marine environment, it should certainly be able to perform in an RV.

We installed the FloJet R4525-743 rated at 4.5 GPM
And nope, don't try to shower and run the washer at the same time. Even on Shore water normally not enough supply (living in the country and on a well we have the same problem there).
