I have an old Ford Class "C" m/home which is parked outside. Over the past number of years I've had a problem with rats or squirrels chewing holes in the plastic tanks under the hood i.e. the coolant overflow tank and windshield washer reservoir. I've placed rat poison in the area of the tanks and it is regularly consumed but the problem persists. Anyone know of a repellent spray or other solution I could try?
Have used moth balls....didn't help/

Welcome to the forum. You could try a cat or a dog, but you need to get rid of all of the rat poison first.

Going to be hard to keep them out of the motor compartment but as for the chewing on stuff you could try the stuff you can get at your local pet store. It's a bitter spray that you can get to spray on things to keep dogs and cats from chewing on furniture and stuff. Not sure if it would work for your problem but would be worth a try.

Get some wire mesh screen and wrap the plastic with them. This should stop chewing. They also sell a spray foam that you could coat the plastic with. Has something in it that prevents rodents from chewing it. Available at home depots.
