Really Cold

I use the "radiator" type of heater that radiates the heat. I've even ran my generator while driving down the highway with the fireplace on and that radiator heater running in the basement.
As in the oil type radiator heater, that resembles the old style oil radiator heaters that were mounted in old houses?

Yes, you can buy them under $50 and they work great. I strapped it upright so it couldn't fall over.

I've talked to folks with 5th wheels that traveled with their generators running and had a crock pot in the sink cooking while they traveled.

NO WAY !!!!

Given that we can't even leave the sink covers on or they will end up on the floor, I can imagine a crock pot of food all over :) :) :)

Thanks. That's the kind I thought you meant. I keep one in the LR, running all the time. I just returned from getting another, and putting it in the basement.

I don't know if they're useless. I suppose that all the heat you can get would be helpful in sub zero temps but then again, is a "Four Season" RV really a four season RV?

I've had the RW in some pretty nasty weather and never had a tank freeze. Once upon a time, years before the RW, I tried to save propane by running three ceramic heaters. They kept the inside nicely heated with very little run time on the furnace. Unfortunately, I forgot that the furnace was heating my tanks as well. :banghead: Live and learn.

These are a 4 season RV they are good for all 4 seasons in arizona:LOL:

I used to think 4 Seasons meant the Warranty on my prior rigs. This is the first 8 season I have owned :D

Holding Tank Heating Pads, $395.00 option on the latest order sheet from RW.

There are a lot of the previous options that were not available for a period (8K axles) and a lot of new options available now (Holding Tank Heaters, "H" Tires, Linc Remote, Power Cord Reel and such).

I think I'd want just about all those options if I ordered new. Can't imagine what that would cost me now with the new pricing...

Well an MB with everything would list for just under $150K. We left out a few things, but not much.

Wow! I had no idea they had gotten that expensive.

Yea for that price I would buy a used mid 2000 Luxury 5W for about $25K and completely gut it and redo it inside, add a custom full body paint, new roof, I/S suspension with disk brakes and pocket me $50k:D

I wonder with the major RV companies acquiring so many of the better 5W manufacturers you will see prices continue such a steep rise and you will not have a choice in the matter but to not purchase. Excluding some of these very high end custom units what choices do you have? Does not Thor own DRV, RW, and Heartland? What else is left out there that one would purchase? There must be one **** of a mark-up on these units!

I'm wondering the same thing. I've often thought it would be neat to gut and remodel one to my liking.

The Base MSRP starts at $89.2K for the 31SL and tops out at $101.1K for the 38FL. But now so many things are Mandatory options, like Full Body Paint, Redwoods Park Package, Full Time Living Packages, and others, it pushes the price right up there, but after just returning from the Tampa show it's comparable with the other units in that same price range, and looking at some of the less expensive units, it's pretty easy to see why they are less.

A 150.000 more means you can most likely still pick it up for around 100.000 or less if on the lot

Does that base price NOT include the mandatory options?

That base doen't include any of the options, but at the end you get the Parks Pack and Full Time Living packages discounted at 100%, they add it on, then take it off. Don't fully understand why, but that the way they do it.

Ours was the same way back in 2013 - 2 packages worth $10K added on, then discounted 100% at the bottom.

Unfortunately, the title work goes out to the DMV without the discount, so our total MSRP was up there over $135K
