We purchased a used 2013 RW 31SL believing it was under 35’ in length as the Redwood Spec sheet states its length as 34’9”. My DW exclaimed it was a much bigger unit than she was expecting so we pulled a tape on it from the very front of the front cap to the back of the rear cap and it measured 36’3”.
After several other measurements we were unable to determine where RW would have measured to claim 34’9”.
Can anyone provide some insight on how RW determines the measurment points?

I believe Redwood (like all or many of the others) reports length from pin to back bumper ladder) and the cap then adds 1-2 feet forward to actual length.

our 2015 RL-38 is 43' long . You will not have any issue with finding places you fit. Some state parks maybe the exception. If the parks claims a 40' fits we have fit in without any issue and had room to park the truck across the front or beside the RV.

Typically the pin weights are MUCH higher than the factory has claimed also. To get a rough estimate of pin weight take your trailer GVW and multiply it by 23%. 16,500 lb GVW X 23% = about 3800lbs pin weight when your loaded to travel . just make sure you have enough truck (pay load) for this , one ton single wheel truck is maxed out for sure.
