Anyone who has had the annual structural inspection done, what did it cost and how thorough was it? I need to get one in a few months and was wondering what it all entailed.

Hi,

Our dealer was trying to get more details from Redwood when I got my trailer winterized and had several minor issues addressed in November. As noted at the front of the Owners Guide, the inspection is at the owners expense with a 30 day grace period from your delivery date. The inspections are limited to the roof membrane, lap seals, windows, clearance lights, moldings, and evidence of condensation in the roof cavity.

There is no consideration for inspection of the frame, jacks, axles, brakes, pin box etc. which should really be of concern for catastrophic failure. Follow the steps in Chapter 8 Care & Maintenance to ensure you cannot be found at fault for any degradation of your unit.

I plan on asking my dealer to check the frame related items in May since I am paying anyway and noting it on my work order. Any issues after that inspection will be presented to my insurance company as proof they were inspected and declared safe or in good condition.

Based on the documentation the much touted 5+2 warranty is a little lame in my opinion, however, Redwood appears to be stepping up to honor any issues so far.

I just had mine done at Explore USA in San Antonio. They did a pressure check on the water and gas systems and did a visual inspection on the frame and other areas. They charge a 2 hour labor fee so $198.00.

It is so amazing that some dealer's are charging nothing and the factory is charging nothing and all seem to have different procedures...It does seem great though that those lucky enough to schedule work at the factory how much better you are treated.

I can't wait. I am scheduled for the facotry on May 23rd. Linda, who scheduled me, is so upbeat. She said we will party when we get there. All I have to do is compile my list - whatever it may be - and get it to her at least 30 days ahead so she can make sure all the parts are ready. How cool is that!!!!

When I had our coach into the factory for its annual inspection in November. I had a punch list of about 16 items, one of which was the sub-woofer. They ended upreplacing the sub-woofer. They also implemented a fix on some wiring in the battery compartment, the fix for the water siphoning out of the fresh water tank and during an inspection found that the freezer doors on the Dometic refrigerator were warped. They had a representative from Dometic come out and install new freezer compartment doors. I had not realized previously that there was a problem with the freezer doors, just that the refrigerator doors did not seem to seal very well. It turned out the problem was in the freezer doors.

They went over the entire coach including the roof and added sealant to any suspicious areas there.

Redwood's service department has been great.

Yep! I can't say enough about those guys and gals....simply wonderful to work with

Dave, did they charge you for your annual inspection? Probably not , because your punch list and their agenda to take great care of one of our own Redwood Clubbers coveredalmost everything anyway.

Is the annual inspection from the day you bought it or from the day you finally get it back withall the repairs, hopefully completed.

There is no charge for the annual inspection when done at the factory. The only thing I was charged was for the little table to go between the two recliners and I decided to have them winterize my coach while it was there.

I wasn't charge anything at the factory at all. You know....now that I think about it... those folks are so nice and friendly I kind of miss them. I think this spring I'll have to go back for a friendly little visit and buy them a few drinks.

Hey we need to meet up in Mesa and I'll have the Drinks Dave

I should be in that area either the first or second week of Feb. Do you have a campground you could recommend? I'd like to find someplace that my wife would enjoy during the day while I'm working.

Dave & Jim,
I may drive up to Mesa and meet you guys to discuss all things Redwood over a couple "pops". Just let me know when and where and I will try to make it.
