If you have known rats and do not have the time to kill them or too busy to drive for them to fall out, you can always just make them uncomfortable and they will leave on their own.
Rats have a strong sense of smell and dislike a variety of scents, including:
Peppermint
A powerful essential oil that can distract a rat's sense of smell. You can dilute peppermint oil with water in a spray bottle and apply it to areas where rats are present.
Garlic
A natural repellent with a strong, pungent scent. You can mix garlic oil with water and spray it in areas where you want to keep rats away.
Eucalyptus
The intense scent of eucalyptus can overwhelm a rat's sensitive nose.
Vinegar
The strong, acidic odor of vinegar can repel rats.
Ammonia
A harsh chemical smell that can deter rats. Mix ammonia with equal parts water in a spray bottle and apply it to areas where rats are present.
Mothballs
Contain a chemical compound called naphthalene that has a strong odor that repels rodents. However, mothballs can be harmful if inhaled or ingested, so keep them away from pets and children.
Cayenne pepper
Contains capsaicin, which gives rodents a burning sensation in their noses and mouths. Sprinkle freshly ground cayenne pepper into burrows and along runways.
Just pick one and go extra strong with the dose, they will be gone soon enough. Then I would go with Ranik bait poison in areas around the extended perimeter of the RV, not in or next to RV like many do
. You wish to attract them to some safe habitat area away from the RV. You will never see rats in your RV again, but they will always be outside.
We have never had a rat in the RV, but I treat outside perimeter with Ranik and bait station I have made with baking soda and corn meal. About once a quarter I kill them all with the bait poison, traps & the baking soda mix.
Note: I have never had to use the Smell Repellants, but I have stayed in a Holiday Inn on multiple occasions
