Hi there,

Has anyone implemented a surfboard rack or has a recommendation for a roof rack system with cross bars that can fit on a Tranquility? Because of the current mounting of the AC, Winegard, and solar panel, I'm pretty sure that a custom setup is going to be needed. Just curious if anyone has set up a roof rack specifically for surfboards.

Thanks!!!

Welcome to the forum! You've asked a unique question. You might have better luck witha broader site life IRV2 or just a web search, since no one has responded yet.

I have a neighbor with a Sprinter with a rear rack for two kayaks. That would be much easier to load and unload. You might modify for surfboards.

Installed Rhino Rack bars to existing rails Tranquility

Hi there- we just purchased a Rhino Racks setup from etrailer.com We installed them on the existing rails placed by Thor which are buried under the black tar on the roof. The bars easily clear the solar panels and we made sure we used all the correct materials that came with the set (it came with Thule or Yakima rail attachment options-we used the Yakima) and with some slight sanding on the metal square rail connectors, we got a super tight fit.. Overall for us this setup will only be used for light use of tying down short surfboards and not be subject to extreme weight and burden. We are satisfied with the result and all for just around $300.

How has it held up? And how hard was it to get the lap off?

I have a 2023 Tranquility. Do I have "rails placed by Thor"? I am not aware of, I thought I needed to install the MB, or Vantech, rails first. I want to have some crossbars on the roof, to carry the skis and maybe a box, without giving up the Thule awning. Thank you.
