RV Battery Noise

We drove our Freedom Elite over some bumpy ground and the little battery indicator box by our RV door started squealing. The noise quits when the engine motor is off, but starts up again as soon as I turn the engine motor on. It does not make the squealing noise when we are plugged into shore power.

There is a red flashing light on the battery indicator box.

Any suggestions on how to stop this constant noise?

"Battery indicator box" and "flashing red light" probably need to be better defined. Pictures would help.

Do you have a leveling system?

What model FE do you have?

I tried to upload a video (that included the “squealing” noise) but here are a couple of pictures of what things look like with the cab engine running.

Here are a couple of pictures to better explain our situation. I can’t seem to be able to load the short video this includes the squealing noise.

The red flashing light is probably a non-issue on your Solar Charge Controller and AFAIK it has no audible alarm. From the manual:

The pictures are great, but you left two questions unanswered. A squeal is usually an alarm. Does it go away if you unplug from SP, and turn the main power to OFF, and turn off your inverter (if so equipped)?

It could be coming from:

The leveling/stabilizer system jacks down alarm.
The CO/Propane detector
The refrigerator
The inverter (if so equipped)

EDIT: Referring to your OP
If the sound goes off when the engine goes off Ima gonna guess number one above. For whatever reason Thor like to put those in cabinets in the kitchen.

I saw this misplaced post and moved it here.
What does the voltage on the solar controller look like with the engine OFF and no SP connected after at least 30 minutes?

I’ll check to see if the alarm continues to go off when I unplug from SP and turn the main power to off. Thanks.
If you look at the chart ACE provided and the situation as you describe it, can you NOT deduce what the problem may be, or at least to investigate the recommendation of the chart?
You will be way ahead to pay someone to explain it.

Good luck...

Ok. I see your chart and it’s the solar panel part that’s flashing red. But…we don’t have a solar panel. We are set up to have one some day, but our rv didn’t come with the solar panel. Huh.

So the red flashing light is NORMAL for that condition and NOT the source of your noise.

Call an rv professional.
Buy two hours of their time.

I'm not sure if we told you the cure that you have the tools or peripheral knowledge bank to execute.
This is no shame. I can't work on modern cars...so I call a pro.

Convert the file to a .zip and upload it as an attachment or post it on YTube and lay out the link...
Define exactly where the "squeal" comes from, electronics can sometimes make a noise but from my experience it will happen when a component fails.
I was pointing in the direction Duck usually points... find someone that has some knowledge on the vague problem.
