I am seeing mixed reviews on some of the RV specific GPS units, Rand McNally unit in particular. Has anyone tried the Good Sam/Magellan RV9165? It is supposed to be a Truckers GPS with a custom chip especially designed for Good Sam with all the POI's that RV'ers would be interested in. I'm sure it has a Good Sam bias, i.e. Good Sam Parks, Camping World locations etc. but I curious to find out if it truly avoids low bridge and other navigational hazards. When we travel by RV, the "journey" is as important as the destination. We prefer the back roads of America because we see things we would never see from the main roads and Interstates. It is essential that we have reliable routing to be able to relax and enjoy the Journey.

I have the rand mcnally. So far so good. Different from my nuvi, but am learning the system.

i am too looking for the device...cant say anything about it....
