Saying Thanks

I posted a question under Discussion as I have in the past. This one individual who is very knowledgeable replied with an acceptable answer. Out of gratitude I hit the Thank button. Immediately a notice popped up that I MUST spread more Thanks to others before I can thank the first individual.

I demand an explanation since in my my I should be able to Thank and contributor that I wish.

I am real upset because I don’t believe admin should dictate and control things such as an expression of Thanks.

The thanks function is part of the forum software and I believe there is a setting that basically says you can't keep thanking the same person over and over. The underlying reason for this is actually to prevent duplicate thanks on a post but the effect is that you need to thank someone else before you can thank the same individual again. I'll take a look at the settings and see if they can be adjusted....

You can always send a private message thanking the individual which then only goes to that individual. Just click on that person's name and a box opens up with the option to send a private message.
