Hello, I recently purchased a 2022 Thor Sequence 20L. It was used with 9K miles. Once home I discovered that the Balmar SG200 Battery Monitor was not working or lighting up. Have tried multiple things, like charging the lithium batteries and doing a factory reset, checking fuses and holding the emergency charge button for 30 seconds. I'm not RV solar power literate and would appreciate any information on how to get this light and smartgage working. Thanks -- lost in NC

I have a 23 Tellaro, so similar to yours. You may want to check one of the 5 amp fuses attached to the hot side of your battery master disconnect. You have to pull it out as shown in attached photo unless yours is otherwise accessible. Several times I had to pull the fuse and put it back in to basically "reset" the gauge. I eventually installed a switch to easily reset if needed.

You may also have a loose plug on the back of the gauge or at the shunt. It is the gray sheathed multi wire cable with attached plug. There are two sockets on the back of the gauge, the other is if you were to install the bluetooth gateway (which is very handy).

You can also check your Balmar regulator itself to see if the alternator is functioning properly. You have to dig to find it, but if the vehicle is running, the regulator LED window will run thru all the parameters in sequence. I eventually pulled the regulator out from behind the mess of wires and mounted it.

The other causes obviously may be a loose or disconnected wire at either the shunt or the regulator. But if the regulator is actually operating properly, the problem sounds more confined to the gauge or gauge wiring itself.

Hope this helps. Let us know what you find.

Mike

Hi Patrick,

Did you press the button on the lower part of the face? If so- then see below.

I have a 20L and have extensively re-wired it, and you may find loose wires, or even connections not made at all.

You need to lift the pass. side bed platform off (R2 square drive bit) and see the wires going to the input side of the master switch- open and check fuse containers there. (2nd pic) You can first try to pull out from the front panel, but wires will fight. Pic shows backside of master switch and connections. Input side is on L., and output has only one wire to 12V panel.

Then make sure plug is well engaged in the Balmar monitor backside (have to remove bed platform, or inner wall of storage under bed), as well as the shunt (black diamond shaped device w/ grey plugs, below regulator, 1st pic). The shunt and regulator were buried in the bottom of my electrical panel compartment. Now all moved onto a piece of 10mm plywood, and totally accessible.

There are also sensor wires atop the B+ of one of the batteries underneath. Good luck finding that.

I've since moved all that inside my 20L, and now I can access all of it much easier, and also now able to remove the batteries for winter storage. PM me for more and email address. I have a lot of pdf's for my 70 mods on my 2022 20L. (search posts by me to find pics)
I sent a PM to you as well.
