Seat back has no room to recline

Lot's of the Class C models have the furniture jammed up against the back of the seats (Four winds 28z for example). How far will the seats recline? Are they comfortable or are you sitting to straight up?

Thanks

By seats I'll guess you mean front passenger seats in the cab.

If my seat is jammed back as you say,
If won't recline at all
Because it's jammed back.
If your personal height allows the seat to not be jammed back
It will recline until it hits the furniture or wall.

comfort is a personal consideration.

What are you asking?
Can it be resolved by sitting in a class c of your choice while you're at a dealer?

No gangsta lean in the 28Z due to the slide wall. But if you drive like a normal person you should be OK.

Go sit in the seat at a dealer.
You'll have to sit in it at the test drive.
And if we're wrong due to inseam, then what?

Unless
Are you doing an online purchase and a home delivery?
If this is the case we can certainly help.

5'8"... probably okay, at least in the driver's seat. I'm over 6' and had to make serious mods to the "tricycle like" driving position... seriously cramped unless you relish driving with your knees at a 90° angle and hunched over the wheel like 90 year old grandma.

The sofa behind the passenger seat without any reclining space is an idiotic design. The wife said NO WAY! But we're both taller than average.

I cut the OSB edge of the slide wall to allow the driver seat to move back maybe 6". Then raised both cab seats about 2" using Unistrut. I posted the mod on here somewhere... but it's a HUGE improvement in the driving position!

Thanks. I will look at other floor plans without the furniture shoved up against the seat backs.

Good luck finding a Class C with room behind the cab seats.

You can make your own. The passenger seat in our cab would not recline because it was up against the jackknife sofa. I ditched that terribly uncomfortable sofa for a Recpro dual power recliner which was 18 to 20 inches shorter than the jackknife sofa. Now the passenger seat reclines nicely.

Anybody know if the drivers seat on the Greyhawk 27U inclines enough to be comfortable? I see it's got the dinette behind it.

This feature, issue, problem is exactly why we went with the Thor Axis.
I simply could not fit comfortably in a class C drivers seat. 6'2" 249 pounds.

At the time I was not experienced enough to know that sofas could be removed or that slide out trim can be cut away to make a motor home my own.

UA class c of any kind with an obstruction of any sort behind the seat will all sit the same.

No matter the coach, the physics doesn't change.
The cutaway chassis is all the same dependant only on chassis brand and then I'll wager you're within a half inch of same.

At 5'8" there isn't much of a general population reason to have the seat in the place I have my 6'4" height and posture adjusted for.

With the extra 8" of leg/posture room you'll have, I'm daring to say this isn't a recline issue.

What's the worry of reclination?
Is this a posture problem?

I'm about to be very frank and speak specifically of class b and c and not specifically of the op:

If any of you all have a girth problem or a width problem, or you are infirm of balance or joint, a class b or c is not for you.
The terminally stupid narrowness to get to the rear of the vehicle is prohibitive.

You'll be going outside of the cab to get inside the coach.

You all(collectively anyone and everyone of greater girth or lesser contortion than is required of the space between those front seats, be you 5'2" or 7'2")
can take this as a slight and a guess,
Or
can take this as an experience and a forethought.

I am 6'4" and of slim-ish frame. That passage just sucks.

5'8" and 170. I just don't want to have to sit straight like in a church pew- very uncomfortable on long days (10-12 hours)

I have a 2018 Four Winds 28 Z. The front captains seats do not recline. I’m 5’4” and I do put the seat slightly forward and the back is not straight up but almost. The seat is very comfortable. My only issue is my left arm doesn’t have a soft spot to rest on. As others have stated. I would sit in the seat and see how you feel.
