Hey jeb my tires were filled with nitrogen from the factory. Now I have to find a place that will check and add to them since I was told they should not need any adjustments and NOT to add air to them?

Nitogen is great that it doesn't expand/contract like atmospheric air BUT your air compessor will have about 60% nitrogen so using standard air line to top off SHOULDN'T be a problem.Racers have used nitrogen for 25-30 years in their tires.

Racers use nitrogen because a change in air pressure in their tires, even of a half pound, will affect the handling of the car. In a trailer, a change in air pressure of even 10 pounds won't affect handling (assuming an 80 PSI starting point) very much at all. It will affect wear but not anything immediate.

Also, when a race team replaces nitrogen, they use nitrogen, not common air. Thus, they always have a "pure" fill of nitrogen. After a few times "topping off" a trailer tire, you will have deleted your nitrogen percentage down to a level which won't do much for you. In many trailer tires, that would take about 3 days of travel, assuming the tires are checked daily and kept at the optimum pressure.

Frankly, I understand why people would want to use nitrogen, but I don't understand why people, when told the facts, would want to waste their money on nitrogen when they could get a six pack for about the same price.

Hey the thing simply came with nitrogen as did my 2010 Dodge. Wont have to worry about the nitrogen in the trailer since all the tires are dry rotted and the dealer is replacing them after they find out why my axles are out ofalignment.

Since your RV is a 2010 the possibility exists that it sat with unprotected tires on the dealer's lot in the hot San Antonio sun since May, 2009 before you made your purchase. Not saying it happened but it is possible. Look at the Zinger's information sticker to see the manufacture date.



When we were shopping for a Cruiser we stopped at a dealer near Austin. He showed us a CF31QB. That exact RV is still on their lot over a year and four months later. Wonder how those tires look?

Maybe I am missing something here, I have seen many threads oR conversations regarding rotten tires. I have a car that Ihave owned off and on for the last 20 years (long story)the year beforelast yearI replaced the original front tires on this carasthey were worn out and had some minor weather checking. I replaced the oem tires with BF Goodrich, sinceI replaced the tiresI have put maybe 500 miles on them and the car sits outside during the summer and inside in the winter the tires look like they are brand new. Is it a quality issue and if so regardless of how long a unit sat on a dealers lot the warranty starts upon delivery to the end user. THIS CONCERNS AND CONFUSES ME!!Edited by: SWAILES

RV tires are susceptible to UV rays. I think it is Goodyear who advertises UV proof RV tires. RV tire covers are used to protect against UV rays.

Driving does something to prolong the life by "massaging" the oils through the rubber to inhibit the cracking. When they sit the surface tends to dry out especially with help from UV rays, hence the necessity for covering.

Many years ago Trailer life mag. had a artical about tires and it said trailer tires HAVE a UV protector in them and that cars DON'T because typicaly cars don't set motionless as much.
