I'm putting my 4 year old up in the loft/overcab this summer, and it's wide open. No factory hooks/connections, so i need fab some sort of saftey rail. Show me your creative design and how you mounted it!

When our grandkids were small we had a Class C motorhome. I attached some 2X4 Fence Brackets to the side walls. I picked out a couple of nice 2X4's, sanded, stained & polyurethaned them. Easy to slip into the brackets when needed. I'm not sure how strong they might be because the side walls of the motorhome are rather thin plywood. But I think they're strong enough to prevent a small child from accidently rolling out of bed.

There are also bed rails that are designed to fit under the mattress. But those wouldn't work in our Class C as the mattress was semipermanently attached to a plywood bridge above the cab.

I have seen a cargo net type setup before. I can’t speak to effectiveness or safety, but it seemed fairly simple to install and quick to put up and take down.

Yeah, i;m thinking it's more for 'hey, your at the edge, roll over' than a full on contraption that will physically stop his fall if he puts his weight on it. He doesn't fall out of bed at home (he has a full size) but he does have bumpers to tell him he's at the edge.

On our ACE for the younger grandkids we got a full length rail that was just the right height for the bed in the lowered position. almost completely closed off the opening left to right. But the top rail had a release so the contraption could be lowered for them to climb in and out. The brand we bought is no longer sold on Amazon but this one is similar:

I think we had two or three falls from up there when our kids were little. Thankfully, no injuries that left a mark!

We ended up with one or two of those mattress bead rail things that tuck under the mattress to hold in place. something similar to this as aI recall

We had toddler twins that we had sleep over in our RV. We bought a foam rail that kept them from rolling out. So easy to use, by putting under a sheet. That way it doesn't get pushed off the edge. We slept comfortably, knowing they wouldn't fall out!

I combined 2 small bed rails and a storage net kit to form our safety barrier. Everything bought on Amazon.

We bought an adjustable spring loaded curtain rod that fit the width. It's not totally secure but is enough to keep a toddler in place if they accidentally roll over in bed. It stores right next to the mattress

I bought the ComfyBumpy bed rail for toddlers/kids from Amazon. They have it for $58.99. It worked great. I used it all the time while driving to also keep things stored while driving when we had our class C Thor Siesta 24SS.

We put in 5 double coat hooks at the top rail, and stapled down this net material I found on Amazon under the mattress. We can close our toddler in easily and she can't fall or roll out. Even had her give it a few test tries. Nice thing too is having more hooks for hanging ski gear in the winter.

I love this, but i don't really have a 'track' like that. I have a tiny blind slide track which i woudn't trust to hold anything. Did you add that 'bar' to the ceiling?
