I get this at least daily. The site is working fine then I click on a link to another thread and.............nothing.

If I wait long enough this may show up:

I've seen that as well but not as frequently as daily (like once every 3-6 months or so).

I keep getting thrown offline when switching from thread to thread and have to sign back in. It may be something in my security settings though, as no one else has brought it up. Happens every time I'm on the forum. I've never seen the message above. It does time out after a few minutes of no activity.

If you are getting logged out at page changes this may be a settings issue. we use cookies to keep you logged in at page changes. Next time you login, tick the "remember me" box on the login screen. If that doesn't solve the issue, then check your settings to make sure that you aren't purging cookies at page changes. (either a browser setting or security software setting) You can specifically enable cookie exchange with the site in your settings if needed.

I problem I am seeing is also at page changes. Works fine one click, next click - nothing for about 5 minutes or until the error above shows up.

this same thing happens to me on every computer i use. i even tried a fresh installed Win 7 and fresh win 10 VM's (virtual machines) even redid my intel NUC (for other reasons.)

no matter win 7 or 10 i keep getting site errors. so i KNOW its not a settings issue or a problem on the client end.

(course ill proably be blamed for posting in the wrong form again. :nonono:)

Can you help with some specifics about the kind of error you are getting? Can you describe what happens and let me know what browser you are using?

I get the error 524 if I try to open new tabs too quickly. I give it a minute or two and hit reload and usually don't have any more trouble if I take my time.

Funny the IIS error 524 is specific to Cloud fare. Wonder if it's a marketing name for an Azure farm - and I'm no stranger to that.

The farm front ends should be load balanced and if your hitting the same front end server the monopolizing process is running on, you're impacted.

Could be someone trying to crack the database. Router logs may show DNS attack as well but the router should be handling that (if correctly set up). Hopefully the legitimate code hitting the database is hardened so it can't be hacked.

Here's some suggestions
