I have noticed several of the slam latch cargo door catches are beginning to rust. The metal piece that the latch slams into must be made of a material that doesn't hold up to moisture.Anyone else experiencing that issue?

I have, just not sure how to fix. I thought about spraying with a clear rust resistant laquer. I am always open to suggestions/ideas.

I have asked the service department at my favorite RV Store to order several for me as replacements. I don't know what I'll do after those are gone. Seems like they would make them more weather proof. Even plastic is better than rust.

Maybe try cleaning the rust and then rub in some silicon grease and repeat every so often. Better then letting it rust. Our unit is only 2 weeks old so we don't have that problem yet.

It is very easy to take a few minutes and go wipe on a film of oil ontoeach latch plate. Do that a couple of time each year and you won't have any rust problem.

Good point & easy to do. While you're at it, I'd replace all the #6 1/2" screws with #8 3/4" screws. I found that most of them had been stripped with air guns prior to deliver. Some had heads break off during use.
