slide issue

We have a 2014 38GK and like most everything about the unit. One problem we are having is that we have the large slide on the door side that does not close tightly to the wall. It always stays about 1/4 to 1/2 inch away at the rear of the trailer. We have had 2 dealers tell us that it cannot be fixed. i do not believe that.

any advise?

Way too many dealer service departments lack in real knowledge. I would be getting in touch with the Crossroads Factory Service Center at Topeka, Indiana. Even though you may be some distance away from them, they do know what they are doing there.

I had the same problem. The rear of my door slide stayed out 4". When i had my brakes done the tech fixed it. There is a bolt on top of the slide rail you loosen.There is a slot that the slide will move on. open your slide a foot or 2. Measure both sides with a tape measure. push the slide in by hand. Make sure to leave the rear 2/8th of an inch further out than the front. Tighten the bolt and you are good. He said to make sure it is out a little further than the front. The slide drive is on the front rail and the rear is a dummy. If you make them the same he said it can cause damage to the drive and slide.

X2! I wouldn't take any Tech's word for it. Take pictures and get in contact with Customer Service and possibly the Service Center. The Service Center will be able to correct it if it is correctable.

Have the same issue with my bedroom slide on my 38BR. My dealer has adjusted all he can... the slide is still not where I want it but the slide is now tight against the bathroom wall. Would have to remove the trim to get it any closer.

There are adjustments under the slide to bring it in tighter but be very careful. These hydro. rams are very strong and you could do some damage. The factory had mine adjusted wrong and it nearly pulled the inside trim off while extending the slide.

Also, as stated by one of the Redwood Customer Service Techs, Whenever you make an adjustment for the outside, you also adjust something on the inside. It wouldn't take much to mess up the entire slide and how it seals on the inside as well as the outside. While still under warranty best left to the Redwood professionals. I would be happy to try and adjust once the warranty is up.
