Slide out rails

Vroom has authorized installation businesses. You will probably be better getting in touch with one of them. I posted a list here - More slide fun
I had my slide replaced last summer and am really happy. But I must warn you the waitlist could be quite long. The Vroom slide system is a side business for Brian. It's not the main money maker. And he does not want to expand. He prefers quality to quantity. So if you can get in, you'll be happy. But you may be waiting until next year.

I would be interested in knowing if there is a price difference between I guessing the San Diego shop and Brian’s shop in Az.

Might be a slight difference, but the drive from Palmdale Ca to San Diego is closer than AZ. I will call on Monday and get the info from San Diego shop.

Well looks like my 2014 thor palazzo has been zapped with a faulty slide system.
2nd time out camping and roll side slide out gear chewed up rail. Paid a emergency road call to get it patched to extend room.
Get home and again. Front out 1ft , back not even moving. Flexing whole slide. Lippet has discontinued this part due.
Any suggestions on a replacement slide set up.
I had to replace the slide control unit in outside compartment under slide last week. My slide would twist and not sync. 859 ouch!

Has anyone successfully gotten Schwintek to warranty their crappy slides?
BTW. I called VROOM. The will only replace slides up to 24'.
Other options out there?

So Vroom knows their limitations and only sells what they warranty , what a concept

Found out tippen has a upgraded system for the crappie system. It has a 500-1 on the motors, not like the 300-1 before. And it upgraded the shaft to steel from aluminum. No flexing between top and bottom. Runs about 2k plus labor. That comes out to 5 Vroom setups

500 and 300 motors have been since 2017. I think they are Interchangable as long as both sides are the same. 300 on small 500 on large. I think I have that right

I feel your pain, this happened to us three times, 2015 Thor Palazzo. As noted above first you need to get it closed so you can move. From the outside of the RV use a ladder and find the motors. They are at the top of the joint between the slide and the sidewall, behind the rubber gasket. Remove the motors by unscrewing the mount screw and lifting the motor. The room can now be pushed in with a lot of muscle power. We used our levelers to tip the RV to the side to help. Reinstall the motors and use wood blocks to help keep it closed. After a unsuccessful repairs by Lippert, who makes these darn things, and a RV shop we had Thor factory repair redo the entire thing. They resquared the room and put in all new tracks and different motors. Thankfully so far so good 3 years later.

does that cover replacing the track too?
Does the length of the slide matter?

If you change a 300.1 to 500.1 make sure your drive shaft is steel not aluminum (magnet). Patriots RV Services in Denton TX can do vroom installation up to 27ft,the owner answers the phone and is very knowledgeable and great to talk with.

Lippert will only warranty to the OEM or their agent. Not to the owner, you don't matter.

Replying to the post you are referring to includes it as a quote so everybody knows who you are talking to.

The OP has a 2014 model year RV so no warranty involved there.
