Slideout Stuck in Extended Position on Thor Compass 23TW

@OP, you need to move to DFW so I could have a mobile tech come your way. I will have to ask him how far outside of DFW he may go. He lives in Lewisville.

Does your tech come to Granbury? Nothing wrong for now, but one never knows! It would good to have contact information saved. :)

I know he would for me if I was stranded. I will ping him. Grandbury is at least 3 hours round trip with good traffic, I will PM you his info. You would almost certainly have to pay more just for his time to get there and back. He is a really good guy to know. He just rebuilt a new compartment behind my passenger side rear well that was completely taken out by a blowout tire. I have not been to a Dealership since the 1st time he came by our house. I am in Carrollton and I am lucky because is not far from my house. If you talk to him contrary to what a lot people think and get wrong on this forum, I am not a DK or an Oldman (yet) :nonono::nonono: You just mention Coleman in Carrollton, he will know and take care of you. I actually try to find stuff he can so I can use him for something at least once a year. I watched him fabricate and build a new steel box for that compartment in awe.

Hello,
I have a 2022 Thor Compass 23TW. The slide out is stuck in extended position. General information and troubleshooting steps:
* Lippert Controller blinks red 8 times for motor 1, blinks green two times for motor 2
* I assume Motor 1 is at the front by the drive cabin because, it does not move the slide at all
* The back of the slide will move in/out, but I stop as only the back is moving. I don't want to get the slide stuck at an angle
* I have switched the motor plugs on the controller between motor one and motor two. Only the back motor still works.
* I have tried the manual override on the Lippert controller by clicking the button 6 and holding on the 7th

It seems to me that it is either the wire going to motor 1 or motor 1 itself. However, I am not able to get the slide in at all to be able to reach the motor on the inside. Does anyone know how to reach the motor and wire to replace? Or any other troubleshooting steps? There are no mobile techs in my area, so I am stuck trying to fix this myself.
My understanding is that if the slide is stuck out....you can electrically disconnect the controller and push the slide in manually. Have not tried that yet so can't verify.

I recall thinking that, too. Until the main slide wouldn't retract in our ACE and three strong men couldn't budge it*. I now assume that you must disconnect the the motor(s) to be able to manually move the slide. And then either reconnect the motor or otherwise secure it from moving before driving (so it won't move out!).

* I eventually discovered a circuit breaker had tripped when a step stool was inadvertently left in the way of the moving slide.

I had an issue where the wire came out of motor one. I had my tech replace but looked like i could have somehow connected it temporarily but not sure
Good luck

Thanks Eric for the information. That helped me locate the motor. The harness had come unplugged inside the unit because there wasn't enough slack in the wire. We were able to plug in and works great now.

Thanks again for your help Eric!!
Make sure the screw from outside is in the horizontal slot on the motor to prevent the motor from rising where the 4 posts are not set in place or motor will rise , spin and unplug or break wires. When I replaced mine with Vroom system they said it’s the electric connection on top of motor that usually breaks the motor is strong. Black top is 500;1 and white top is 300;1motor (could be other way around)
