Does anyone have a home made remedy for mattress slide? I tried the non-slide matting that I've put in all the storage cabinets. No go. So I'm thinking of making a foot rail that I can attach to the wood platform. Would like to know if anyone has done this and how it turned out. Thanks!

Hello,

I have been curious about what ideas folks have had for keeping mattresses from sliding.

We have a 2016 Hurricane 27K, with the king bed in the rear. The mattress sits directly on some ply board (pressed wood? plywood?) that has a rather slippery finish.

I have been trying to think of what we could put between the board and mattress that wouldn't end up being more of a pain than the sliding mattress, and that would not rip or snag the bottom of the mattress...but so far haven't come up with any good options.

Did you build your foot rail? If so, how is it working? If not, have you tried anything else?

Haven't been able to work on the problem yet as our RV has been in for warranty work. However I purchased three nice size L brackets, and plan on screwing them into the wood base the mattress sits on. I then plan on covering the bracket section under the mattress with duct tape to keep any rough spots from damaging the mattress. Will let you know how it turns out when I can actually do some alterations on our RV. I found L brackets that are app. 3" by 3", painted and smooth. I had to drill holes in them, but I think they should work.

Thanks jcarnes298! Sounds like an interesting and quite do-able solution. Will look forward to learning how your plan works when you get it completed.

We just got back from taking our coach in for some warranty work, and it will be gone for a week or so. We hope to be able to get out and enjoy some outdoor tripping once we get it back!

Appreciate the info and look forward to an update on your plan!

Has anyone tried a piece of 1 inch aluminum angle? The aluminum angle is readily available in varying lengths at most home improvement centers.
