Hi all. We are in Toronto and like many states, we have been hit with 60cm (23 inches) of snow...light and fluffy and the snow blower worked great today. Can anyone advise on the snow load for our 2019 Hurricane 29m.

A couple of pics are attached.

Planning to tackle the removal tomorrow. IMG_4848.jpg

I am not sure anyone, including Thor knows the safe weight loading on the roof. I try to keep ours down to 12" of normal snow, less when it gets heavy and wet.

A quick search of the internet shows a general rule of thumb says snow weighs 20 pounds per cubic foot. So if your coach is 8 foot wide by 30 foot long that would be 240 square foot of surface. If you have 2 foot of snow that means you have 480 cubic foot of snow on your roof and 9,600 pounds of snow on the roof. That seems like a lot weight.

20 lbs/cubic ft is at the worst case end of the spectrum. Snow can weigh from 1 pound per cubic foot to over 21 pounds per cubic foot. Makes a big difference on the actual roof load.

But what do I know? I'm in Florida. It MAY get down to 31 degrees tonight.

Thanks for your commentary....fortunately (except for my face and frozen eyebrows) it was also windy here today....I think the max height on the roof is perhaps 12 inches....so tomorrow, with 8 & 22 foot ladder I will be removing what I can...I don't trust myself and the slippery roof to fall off!

Light and fluffy take the leaf blower up on the ladder and blow it off.
We get a lot of lake effect snow here in NW Indiana off Lake Michigan. It is fluffy and the leaf blower works well if you don't let it thaw a bit first. Did the roof last week off 12' step ladder.
Be careful!
