Sound deadening

Just did our first real trip in our 2015 Axis 24.1. It did ok.
Finally tested the slide out and awning and they both work.

We did not try the water system as I didn't want to mess with having to winterize it. We just dumped water in the toilet after peeing, or stopped at Love's or used the facilities at the 2 rv parks we stayed at.
Of course we still flushed the black tank before we left our last rv park

It is LOUD. THe V10 screams.

Has anyone used sound-deadening material under the dog house or other areas?

Yes, there are many posts/threads on the Forum describing how to quiet the cab area using Dynamat or similar products.

Kilmat and refractory cloth is what we used.

I have maybe 60lbs of kilmat in the cab and engine bay. Even my v10 aircleaner is completely wrapped.
My 24.1 is the same decibel count as my King Ranch was.
On good road we can whisper to each other.

Pics of much of it is in my signature thread somewhere.
A lot of noise comes from the steps.
And a butt ton of heat comes in right at your accelerator foot from the dog house.

Next is doing the backside of the front cap and the hood and the pass through under the front seats and the exhaust wrap I've yet to install after four years of having the kit.
Almost the entire underside of the floor is covered.

I used a lesser priced peel & stick fiberglass product from Amazon. Works fairly well.
EDIT: It is a peel & stick thick foam roll as Dave posted below.

You are sitting very close to a large powerful V10 engine. Don't expect it to be very quiet!

I have what you've linked above. It's OK. Takes up a bit of space. To me it allowed for some compression and flaking I might not want. I've had it for over a year and haven't installed it.

Both types have the stickiest backing you can imagine.

Self stick.
And you can add layers upon layers.

You need the roller kit for the kilmat.

Did ours over 3 years ago now. Pretty straight forward on a class C.

I am looking at doing this also, but not so much for the noise, but for the heat instead. Drowning out the wife and kids is fine with me ;)

Exactly why I did it! (The heat, that is. The wife sees my posts occasionally :ermm: )
