Splendide Washer Problem

I have an Ariston Splendide ARWXF129W washing machine that has started giving me problems. It was working fine when I winterized the camper and put it in storage. After de-winterizing, on the first attempt to use the washer I could not get it started. The washer powered on normally and allowed normal selection of the wash cycle, but when the Start button was pressed the Start/Pause button initially showed the normal green light with what sounded like the door lock engaging, but immediately turned yellow and began flashing. The function light also flashed and the display showed "door". The only thing I can find that even comes close to these indications is if the function and Start/Pause light are flashing to remove power from the unit for a period of time and then reinstate power. Didn't help. Has anyone had this problem with a Splendide washer, and if so, how did you fix it?

I know this is an older thread, but the two links you gave for the owners manual and the repair manual are the same link. Do you have a valid link to the ARWXF129W repair manual? (The owner's manual is easy enough to find... everywhere! :D )

Thanks, Russ. That's the closest thing there is. Not quite the exact model, but I'll work from it as best I can. Thanks again and Merry Christmas to you!

When our washer bit the dust the CC specialist said that parts are hard to come by for the old units. They prefer not to work on them.

With the labor to move them about it just was not worth it.

We bought a scratch and dent new model.

Best of luck.

With the labor to move them

Not sure if you meant "remove them". I was able to replace the dryer motor bearings (omg, SO much quieter now). Getting the motors out of both units was rather simple. But I could have replaced the bearings on the washer motor, but I could not get the belt pulley off the end of the motor shaft. I tried heat, bearing puller, I rigged it up, but just couldn't get it done. Fortunately, it was the dryer that was the noisiest and it's fixed.

Their point was the labor to remove a washer dryer buried in an rv closet is somewhat labor intensive. I.E. costly.

Since it is hard to then test the unit before putting it back.

In my case the repair necessary might have been $400 plus a cost to put it back in the closet. Might cost near $800. We got a new scratch and dent for under $900.

I looked for parts for these. Not going to be easy. The newer units are all electronic. No contacts etc.

Historically techs do not work on rv’s. So a dealer would be involved.

Ah, I see your point. We have a different scenario! :)

We have a toy hauler, and it sits right there in the open, just floor braces to keep it in place. (And we recently found a cabinet that's exactly the right size to between the top of the stackables and the ceiling above (which is the floor of the "attic bedroom" we don't use.))

Thanks for the info! Merry Christmas to y'all!
