Stabilizers and chocks

I have seen all shapes and sizes of fifth wheels, some use front pin stabilizers. I was wondering if any Woodies use them along with there six jacks? Also do you use the wheel chocks between the tires? Our present rig is a MH so thats why the question. Thanks for you info.

I do use the tire chocks between the wheels. We have had some pretty gusty winds of late (Lake Waco) and I have barely felt the coach move. Hope this helps.

Since you don't have a Parking Brake on a 5er, the wheel chocks take on that function, so yet you need some, nothing worse than pulling the hitch release and seeing you Rig start moving backwards toward that beautiful lake (LOL). King Pin stabilizers are more of a personal preference. We don't use one and don't want to carry one with us, we feel the Level-Up System does a great job and about the only thing better would be cement blocks. So give it a try without one, then see if a friend can loan you one to try and you make the call.

I would definitely use the wheel chocks as for the stabilizers that is up to you, I my self will use the king pin stabilizer because we have the front living room.

I agree completly....One time after I unhooked my Travel trailer it rolled about 2 foot and almost hit my garage...lession learned! I ALWAYS use one of these wheel lock systems that spreads between the tires so they have to roll against each other. This also helps with the trailer movement too.

This forum is great. I have been rving for years and still learn something new each time I log on. We have been home based here at Lake Waco, TX for 2 years as volunteers. Enjoying the lifestyle and the lake.

This is the BEST forum I've seen

and I hope it stays that way. I haven't seen any bassing on here, just folks sharring different opinions or points of view. This could be because we're still a small group but I really hope it continues.

I'm really looking forward to meeting some of you whether it's on the road or at a rally.
