Starlink Through The Roof

Has anybody wired a starlink thru a winegard opening in the roof?
Hi Paul, welcome to the Forum! :welcomesign:

Somebody just asked that question about a month ago. I don't think they got the response they were looking for.

I don't have Starlink, but my understanding is you just need to run a CAT5/6 ethernet cable to the antenna.

But you need to explain your question further:
Are you removing the Winegard unit completely? Or,
Do you want to add the Starlink cable to the existing cable run and exit the Winegard unit?

I just want to run the cable thru the winegard penetration. Add to the existing cable run.

And which Winegard product do you have? I can tell you that you can not add anything to a Winegard Sensar Antenna roof opening.

Paul, If you are asking about sharing the same hole as the Winegard then the answer depends. If the Winegard cable pass thru has a plate like in the link below then you can remove it and see if two cables can share the same hole. You could also just make a new hole and add another plate. These plates come with more than one slot to accommodate more than one cable. After you finish you must cover the plate and screws with Dicor.

Hey Paul and Welcome. I do not have Starlink either, but have read on this forum that some have left enough cable and made sure it was removable so that when you are parked under something that blocks your sky view, you can move it some where where you get a better signal. Just a thought.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll have to open up the Winegard to see what the plate looks like. Don’t want to put more holes in the roof Than I need too!

I have been thinking the same thing. Ditch the antenna and connect my Starlink antenna to the Winegard rotating/raising mechanism.
We are currently in a snowstorm in WY so I have been using my skylight for the Starlink antenna.
Got wires all over the place but I don't have to go outside and set it up.
