As many on this Forum may be new to online forums in general, it might be a good idea for the administrator/moderators to filter out specific thread replies that in effect, raise a new issue, question or concern. These responses could be moved to the appropriate area of the Forum and a new thread started. In the long run, it assists those using the search function to better identify a specific need and/or question they might have. Secondly, it keeps the original posters thread on topic.

I agree... My observation is that the admins on this forum stay out of things unless there is a blatant infraction. Would be helpful if someone who is a regular contributor could have admin privileges to keep an eye on these hijacked topics... not to remove the posts, just to do as suggested, move them to a new topic in the correct section of the board.

I also agree. Seems like we've seen more of it happening lately and really deep into some threads. I've felt like speaking up but felt it wasn't my place to bring it up as I'm so new to this forum. Some new people have first posted deep into a thread and I'd like to see them introduce themselves properly with a new member intro thread of their own.

I agree, you look at a new post on a topic and it has nothing to do with it. It's from wanting to know where somebody's going, or the posting has got on a totally different topic.

Chuck - that is exactly how the other forum is run. Keeps it much more organised.

IMHO, I don't have a problem with discussion topics changing in a thread once the original question/comment has been beaten to death :)

It's called a 'discussion' forum for a reason :) Do you chastise your friends for changing the subject during a conversation ???

And besides, if you are looking for something in particular, use the search function and it will filter it for you... (just my $.00002 :) )

So how's the weather where you are ???? !!!! :D:LOL::socool:

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

If you see an off topic post that should be in it's own thread, please report the post so we can take a look at it.

Thanks.

Adios, Dirk

Probably doesn't hurt just to mention to the poster that they might have better luck getting answers to a side topic if it was posted as new.

With that, I'm as guilty if not more guilty than others of following on with a drift, making it worse. Sometimes its hard NOT to contribute to a drift when its a fun side topic. I will try to refrain myself ;)

If it's completely random then yes I do. :)
But that usually only happens after we've had too much to drink by the fire. Then, all bets are off.

HaHa - had to chuckle at the use of random...
we have a camping buddy we CALL Randy (even though his names Fred !) since he IS so random :)

Even his 5 year old Niece said "Uncle Fred is so Random " !!!
