We have a 2008 Sunset Trail 30’ travel trailer with one glide out that includes the dinette and couch. When we put the glide out or in, we have to hold up the middle, cause it makes a clunky sound about 3 or 4 times while it’s going in or out. The sound seems to be coming from the main gear line near the front of the glide out, which is near the front of the camper. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

With the slide fully out go under and check the "rack" the row of teeth under the slide arm. Look for any missing or broken teeth also check the gearpack - the "roller with a gear" for any damage. Then look at the floor of the slide for damage.

Lippert has a procedure for lubricating the gearpacks. Then use a dry lube or a "slide lube" - I get mine at Walmart - and spray the racks and tubes. If you have no damage this may help.
