How do I find out what size sway bars are installed on my new Chateau 22E? I don't want to replace them with the same size.....

They are usually measured by diameter of the bar. I bet the stock sway bars are probably less than 1" dia, while the aftermarket sway bars will most likely be closer to 1 1/2" dia.

Which means you will have to crawl under the vehicle with a tape measure.

I don't know about these things, but I do know that there is more to the stiffness than just size. IF the aftermarket bars are made of a different steel, there performance would differ even if the bars are the same diameter.

No doubt FW28z knows more about these bars than I do, and I wouldn't be suprised if the aftermarket folks don't make their bars out of larger stock, even if only to give their customer's the warm fuzzy about what they are selling.....
Regardless, for waht it's worth I'd guess it's a safe bet that a reputable company's aftermarket sway bar will out perform the stock even it were the same size.... which apearently they are not anyway, so mute point, eh?....

Could very well be different hardness in the metal as well, but the sway bars I saw were made by Hellwig and intended as replacement of the stock sway bars for RV use in a E450.

I know that my stock sway bars are smaller in diameter than the Hellwig RV bars. However, I have never seen a specification as to how they are classified... probably a torque specification I bet
