Table install

What is a 'marine table'?

I added a small table between the driver & passenger seats of our ACE 30.1 I added a table post socket and cut down a table post. I thought about using the table socket for the table that we use when the seats are turned around but 1) that'd mean my new table would be cantilevered and  the table post was a large size - I couldn't find a post that fit (admittedly I didn't search very hard due to reason #1).

The new socket I added holds the small table securely but can easily be removed if the engine cover needs to come off. The cup holders in this table are much more convenient than the ones in the engine cover tray.

A marine table is a removeable table used on boats. My concern is where can I install the base for the post?

My new to me 2017 Thor ACE 29.4 came with a table and pole that has a socket on the floor and pole and table is stored in the bedroom closet nicely. However, the pole does not fit in the table or floor socket tight at all. It is just a plain metal tube with nothing on either end of it. Is there something missing on each end of the pole to make it lock into place? Thanks!

Our 2015 ACE came with a relatively large table that is used when we're 'camping'. But it can't be used when travelling. So I added the smaller table as described above.

The large table uses a single post that has a slight taper on each end. The taper fits snuggly into the socket in the floor & the underside of the table. As noted above, this post is a larger diameter then the ones I could find from the usual RV suppliers. Maybe someone lost the original post and tried to substitute a 'normal' one? (which ain't gonna work...)

A picture of the pole you have (with a ruler to indicate the size) might help us.

That makes sense. I did notice a Camping World sticker on it. So a previous owner must have replaced it with this one that has a smaller diameter. I'll take a pic today and update this post.

I'd need to trudge through the 1" of snow we got yesterday to look at the table leg in our ACE. I do recall it had a sticker on it but I could not find any more info about the source. I do remember that CW did not have one in the same size.

Thor uses poles and sockets that are slightly larger than the standard you would purchase from CW or Amazon. Sounds like you have a replacement pole and need an OEM pole. If you can't find one locally I have an extra one you can have if you want to pay shipping or are traveling through north Florida.

Thanks, I'll try local or adapt some PVC around it or something. If that fails, I'll contact you to arrange.

Sorry for double post, trying to figure out quotes.

No problem. We're all trying to get used to the new interface. One new feature on this software is that you can edit your own post for 24 hours after posting.

Uggh, hate the prep for that. I live in Fort Pierce, so I pass by North Florida at least 3 times a year and have a reservation for May in S.C. but likely will be in the area before then if you would rather not hassle with mailing an odd shaped thing.

If time isn't an issue and the routes are favorable, I'll be passing through the big bend area via US-98 as we make our way down the Gulf coast toward the Keys. Coming out of the Keys, we're headed up the east coast of FL next month. Happy to transport if it works.

Appreciate the help but I think we got it worked out… maybe!

BTW: nice road 98
