Been some time since I have posted here since we made a move south.
Just thought I would post a few pictures to show the quality of our redwood builders. I shouldn’t have said quality because there in none at redwood!!! These are my front slides.
Not a roof leak and I thank Tony for letting me know the most likely area of the leak. To avoid this the worker could have spent about 15 minutes more and this would never happen.
Never bothered to contact RW since they will just say it’s lack of maintenance on my part.
Took a complete day but all repaired and ready to go again.

Oh my goodness. Sorry to see this! What was the cause? Would like to check out my rig also.

I love the magazine rack! Repurposed from living room? I’m planning to remove mine also.

Hate to see this! I take it RW does not use plywood. I know others would want to know where the moisture ingress started and especially how you did the repairs.

Did it come in along the rails
Or did the not caulk the corner pieces or triim

It was the corners and bottom trim piece on the exterior.
RW used a type of plywood that is 1 1/4” thick and many plys. The bottom has a glued on rubber membrane that holds all water and moister . This never allows anything to dry so eventually completely rotted all the wood.
They say we need to check the caulking but my recommendation if you don’t have rot yet is to remove the corners and trim and use a very thick bead of sealent.
I did this after replacing the wood and let it push right out . Let it dry and cut off with knife and then applied a color match caulk.
Used Advantek Wood and Dow sealer.
Will get painted black also.

That sucks luckily your a handy kind of guy.
How's the south country treating you
Say hi to Char

Great job. It is amazing that you could make all these repairs yourself and that you did not have to remove any of the Schwintek slide system while doing it. I guess it helps that all you had to do was slide the couches out of the way on the FL model. For the RL models with the W/D and bedroom slides this would be significantly more difficult. Once again GREAT JOB! Now that you about have it rebuilt you should keep it!

I see this same repair in the future on my 36RE. On mine the roof leaked without it ever showing inside. Until it was too late. I replaced the roof on the slide several years ago. I've been monitoring the floor ever since.

We are doing great Shane on SC and I’m sure our paths will cross again.

We had to have the floor in the bedroom slide of our '17 38RL replaced. It was done at the factory after the '17 Rally. Now the corner is going soft again. Wish I had seen this post in '17. Anyway I am thinking of replacing it with HDPE sheet when the time comes. Glad to see it can be replaced w/out removing the slide.

My 2016 39mb was pure junk. Sorry for the poor sucker that bought it from Colton RV in buffalo ny after I traded itI
