We recently purchased a Thor Aria 4000 with an aquahot 250D system. This is our 3rd RV over a 20 year period and our first class A. Others were Class C motorhomes. The last was a 31" Jayco Greyhawk which we loved and had almost no issues with for 15 years.

We had the Aria a very short time before it needed to be winterized and have not had the opportunity to use it much. The dealer and techs are not knowledgeable. The cab heater wasn't working and they couldn't figure out that the unit has a winter summer valve. We finally figured this out. Hence I a posting the following as we are not getting help from Thor or the dealer.

The heat in the unit does not appear to work in the front. We drove from NJ to Florida and back and could not get the temperature above 45 degrees. Came home and have tried it on shore power currently plugged in for 48 hours. Interesting the temperature was 27 degrees this morning and the rear was set at 71 and temperature was 70. The front was set at 71 and temperature was 56. This afternoon temperature is 30 degrees and sunny, front set to 71 flame indicator on and its 59 degrees. It did not seem to work at all while travelling and on shore power only rear seems to work. Any thoughts?

Can a class A camper stay above 68 in temps below 50? below 40? If so what type of heat? We recently purchased a Class A Aria 4000 with aquahot 250d and couldn't get it above 45 travelling from NJ to Florida. Our Class C stayed warm traveling to SD in temps below 40. Just wondering what is reasonable to expect?

I have no problem keeping my Hurricane above 70 in temps down to the 40s. I haven't had it on the road for temps in the 30s but parked in the driveway, a wal mart electric heater, set on low, will keep it in the 50s inside.

I’ve stayed overnight in temps down to 15F. I had no problem keeping the coach at 70F inside, just running both propane furnaces. They ran almost continuously, but I stayed warm and nothing froze up.

Is your diesel burner working OK? You should have more heat than what you seem to be getting. Make sure both zones pumps are on and the water leaving is hot. Not sure how many registers you have but check the two in the front to be sure they are hot.

I was trying to understand the system and found someone on YouTube check out “ Morton’s on the move” he has a couple videos on Aquahot systems I think they are worth watching
