Hi all, I lost the driver's side rear fender skirt on my 2018 Thor Axis 25.4 to road debris and am looking to replace it. I've written to Thor customer service about a replacement but have not heard back. Looking online I've found one place that sells "#1418 Thor RV fiberglass single fender skirt" but the website also says "This product is currently onboarding, may take 4-12 weeks to produce and ship."

I'm fulltiming and am going to be logging a thousand miles in that time and don't want to risk another hit in the same place. Getting a part shipped would be the best solution but can change my travel plans to relocate to a service center if necessary.

Does anybody have experience in replacing this part on their Axis/Vegas? The rear of the Axis looks to be very similar to Thor's Class Cs. Might a part from another Thor model fit?

Any suggestions on how to mitigate damage to the exposed siding over the wheel well in the meantime, or am I overthinking this?

Thanks!

The one you reference is actually for a Class C. Check the measurements to see if it will fit. Otherwise call Thor.

The secure with one screw at each end and Proflex Geosealant adhesive sealant all around the edges.

Duct tape while waiting for the part.

The Axis may be a Class A, but it's built on the E450 chassis like a C. Thor stripped the front end to put the driver above and behind the engine like an A, but behind the cab looks like a lot of other Thor C's like Four Winds or Chateaus, down to the floorplans and dimensions, the tires, the drive train, the hitch, etc. I'm hoping that to keep costs down, Thor uses a lot of the same parts across all their E450 models. I'll find out if/when Thor gets back to me I suppose.

Thanks for the Proflex Geosealant tip. That at least I can source on Amazon. :)

The flares are cosmetic only. They provide no protection and have no vehicle integrity value or structural value. They are merely an easy add-on to hide shoddy scroll saw work.

Driving/being without one is not detrimental.

To verify: Take a good look at your surviving flare and decide what you think its usefulness is.

Actually, Ford produced the E-series "cutaway" and the "basic stripped chassis" for use with the motor homes. The Axis/Vegas is built on the latter, the class C is on the former.
