Tire Problem

We just discovered a major tire problem on the rear "curb side" tire on

our 5th wheel (see sig.). These are 1 year old Mission Load Max Radial

original equipment tires. We have pulled the unit about 12,500 miles in

the last 12 months.

About 200 miles ago, we happened to notice a worn spot about 10" long

from the edge of the tread going in about 2 ribs. Just now, we checked

the spot and the wear has gone into the body of the tire and

reinforcement is showing. Upon closer examination, we found a similar

wear spot on the inside of the same tire that has not gone into the

body of the tire yet. Obviously, we are not driving anywhere until we

know what the problem is likely to be. We have a spare.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry Judy&Frank, nothing in your sig that describes your unit type and age. If it's still in warranty, bring to dealer or call Randy at Crossroads. Could be just a tire issue or like others have had, could be a bad axle.

I had 2 axles replaced about a month ago on my 2009 trailer that had under a few thousand miles. The camber was so bad out that I could SEE it when looking at the tires.

Randy, Lippert and Traffords RV of Conway, NH took care of it with no fuss or issues to me.

If you pulled 12,000 miles and no problems I would go for bad tires, sidewall seperation.
