tire wear Ford F-550 chassis Thor Magnitude BH35

Thanks for the reply Sappy. If I am looking at the tires correctly I believe these were manufactured in the 13th week of 2018 base on the DOT code. Attached to confirm. I think that tells me these are the original tires based on a 2019 build year on a 2020 model. That puts these at 4 years old and probably time to change them?

That is not the DOT date code. It will be on a flat oval on one side of the tire and be only 4 numbers. First 2 are the week of the year, second 2 the year.

Example shown.

The example shown on post 18 still isn't the DOT date code.
Thanks for pointing that out. I went back out and found a tire that had the DOT code on the outside sidewall. Seems these tires only have the code on 1 side and the others are of course all on the inside sidewall. 0819 DOT codes so I believe that indicates a late Feb. 2019 manufacture date.

It's a real pisser when you are trying to check the DOT date code on a dually and they have mounted it so it's on the inside. Yes that's the 8th week of 2019 so the 4th week of Feb.

That is why every purchase contract for any vehicle I buy states the dealer will provide full DOT code for every tire to include spare if equipped. About 20 years ago I got tired of crawling around getting codes myself.

When I buy tires I do not accept anything older than 6 months and the installer records all DOT codes on the invoice.

As a note, some RV tire road hazard plans require full DOT numbers to be recorded on the contract.
