Very Creaky Floor

We have a 2023 Windsport 34 R. The floor is extremely creaky in the hallway from in front of the bathroom to the bedroom. We had this problem when we first bought it and Thor had to replace the flooring because there were nuts and bolts underneath the sheet vinyl. We had the loud creaking then and they fixed it and gave us luxury vinyl plank flooring. It’s beautiful but the creaking is back! Anyone else have this problem and how did you fix it? I hate to have that floor messed up…….

I have not had that problem nor heard of but this is what I would.

1. Make a recording of the squeaking creaking floor.
2. Send letter to TMC reference the 1st warranty, advise of the recording and ask if they determined true root cause before.
3. I would focus on or to get help to see exactly where the creaking is coming from. If that is known someone may better offer suggestion on how to fix in addition to what TMC does.
4. I would also go look at another 2023 exactly like yours to see if I hear the same squeaking sounds.


I remember when our RV was new we heard squeaky sounds from the door. The Dealer told us all kinds of things, drove RV with us & confirmed the sounds but said it was normal. Because we were new it just irritated us, but eventually we didn't notice any more. Just got use to it because the squeaky was still there when driving. Then one day at a campsite I was adjusting the screen door and noticed the felt trim seal around the had slipped down a little bit. I tried to slide it back up and heard a squeak. I did it a few times and it was like I had a Mr. Squeaky toy. Just like that we found our squeak. I used a little Scotch Tacky Glue and the squeaking is gone.

Hello, so sorry to hear about your issues. Likely the substrate under that very nice floor they put in is loose and more than likely the only way to fix this is to pull up your new floor and fix the loose substrate. That should still be under warranty so make sure to take it back and have it fixed. The substrate is moving when you walk on it and this is whats causing the squeaking. Not knowing what your floor is made of I cannot offer any other suggestions. I'm sure some of the other kind folks will be along here shortly to help. Hope I'm wrong, good luck
